Michael Jackson shot to fame with his brothers as a musical group called ‘The Jackson 5’ and at the age of just 8 he was singing lead vocals. It was clear he was the most talented of the brothers and in 1979 he recorded his first solo album ‘Off The Wall’.


During his youth he had a large afro but by the time he had released his most successful album, Thriller, his image had changed dramatically already, and it was to change more.


In the mid 1980’s Michael Jacksons skin became paler as he was diagnosed with vitiligo which is why his skin became pale. As well as illnesses changing his skin, Michael Jackson had numerous surgical procedures to reshape his face. In his final years he appeared incredibly thin and unhealthy.
